In 2021, I lost one of my closest friends, AJ Johnson, to suicide. He was 25 years old... I had no idea he was in pain.

A big part of my healing process was connecting with his friends and family, and creating mental health sweatshirts with his name on the side to keep his memory alive.

In creating these sweatshirts, I realized there aren't many resources or support systems in place for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. I wanted to change that, so I created Phoenix, a mental health apparel line with a mission of building community and rallying around those who are feeling alone in their grief journey. The full story is here.
